This week’s North Devon Netball League round-up

CAROL Anne Diamonds are still unbeaten but Titans Apollo battled hard and proved a match for the league leaders.

Victoria Hair was yet again outstanding for Diamonds, making it very difficult for here opponents to get their shots away.

The thrilling 15-15 draw made it 10 games undefeated for Diamonds, who had won nine on the bounce since the start of the summer season.

Carol Anne Sapphires turned the tables on Venners Bakery Vipers with a four-pointer from Laura Manley with less than a minute to go. A great team effort, with Katie May, Becky Willis and Jen Whitley all at the top of their games, gave Sapphires the edge.

In division two, the matches were extremely close with all three of the matches decided by three points or fewer.

Titans Jupiter beat Frank Heard’s Heffers, who went on to defeat Titans Pluto. Pluto then got a win of their own on the board, beating Jupiter.

Bude Stars remain on course in division three after convincing victories over Pat Williams Girls and Chivenor Netters, while Dani Taylor-Acid led Chivenor Netters to a win over Pat Williams Girls.

Mandy Nicholas was shooting accurately for Reeds Silverside as they won both of their matches in division four, despite the best efforts of Keziah Hoskin for Carol Anne Quartz.

North Devon Homes and Carol Anne Jets continue to dominate in division five, while Georgeham Rocks and Venners Misfits could not be separated.

Joss Allman attempted the long shots yet again and Georgeham’s Molly Maskell and Lou Morris were confident in the mid-court to control the play and give their shooters a number of opportunities.

In division six, Charlotte Worby was influential in defence and Kathryn Jenn found the net easily to help Hartland Harriers to two more victories.
