North Devon player Dan Bowser has been nominated for a national award on the strength of his performances last season for the England Disability XI.

Every year the Cricketer Magazine runs an annual poll to nominate the best players, teams and coaches in First Class and international cricket.

Bowser has been nominated by the magazine as one of four candidates in the England Disability player of the year category.

Bowser was the undisputed player of the series for England during the INAS International Tri-Nations series between England, Australia and South Africa.

He scored 459 runs at an average of 91.8, hitting two half-centuries and a century in the one-day internationals, and two further half-centuries in the T20 competition. England went on to win both competitions.

In the one-day international final against Australia, Bowser scored 93 not out and in the T20 final against South Africa he made 61 not out, with a strike rate over the two tournaments of 148.

In his century against South Africa, in one of the qualifying matches for the final, Bowser went from 50 to 100 in 12 balls, which became the quickest ever in the 173-year history of worldwide cricket internationals.

Moeen Ali matched that record ten weeks later playing for England Men against West Indies in a one-day international.

To vote for Dan click on to www.thecricketer.com/Awards.aspx by Wednesday, November 8.

The disability category is the final entry on the poll.

You don’t need to vote in the other categories if you don’t want to. You will be asked for your name and email address to confirm it is a unique, single vote.
