‘Reds’ presented with new skulls by Torridge Council

Bideford Amateur Rowing Club’s popular junior section is enjoying new skulls thanks to a £3,000 grant from Torridge District Council.

The ‘Reds’ junior section was given the equipment as part of the Council’s Youth Budget to help the club develop its youngsters’ skills.

“Many thanks to Torridge District Council for their support. It is greatly needed,” said Bideford ARC President Kevin Drew.

Deputy Leader of Torridge Councillor Johnson went along to visit the club to see how they were getting on with the new blades.

“It’s fantastic the youth are involved in healthy sports and exercise like this,” he said. “But let’s also thank the adults and families for getting involved as well. Without them, the children would never have a chance like this.”
