Ilfracombe came out on top in their local derby clash with Bideford in the Westward Developments Devon Women’s Football League.
The 5-2 win in a fast and furious derby puts Ilfracombe five points clear at the top of the table with only three games remaining.
Ilfracombe twice had to come from behind. Playing against the wind in the opening half they fell 1-0 down to an own goal, but pulled back level before half-time.
They fell behind again 2-1 before then taking advantage of the wind behind them to pull steadily clear, their goals coming from Amy Terry (2), Sarah Dennis (2) and a curling inswinger direct from a corner by Marie Dibble.
Bideford were reduced to 10 players 20 minutes from the end after their keeper was red carded for a foul on Keely Coates.
