Game to put the ‘fun’ in fundraising
Clovelly AFC are back on track and looking forward to a fun-filled Saturday afternoon with the Royston Johns Memorial Match.
The game, formerly known as the Clovelly Legends Return, will see the current squad, managed by Rob Kearney, take on a team of former players, managed by Royston’s son Edward Johns.
The club – which was on the brink of folding a few weeks ago – will be holding fundraising activities throughout the day to help the club through its current situation, including a bouncy castle and barbeque.
“We are trying our very best to attract former players, supporters, committee members and anybody who has fond memories of our club and my dad’s involvement,” said ‘legends’ manager Edward.
The match kicks off at 3pm at Clovelly Football Club on Saturday.
