Twenty seven teams took part in the Bideford Bridge Rotary Club’s darts marathon competition and raised nearly £5,000 for local charities.

Teams of six initially threw for two hours at their own venues, with the total points scored added up and all asked to raise charity contributions.

A finals night followed at the Milky Way, Clovelly, with cup and plate knockout competitions.

The overall trophy for the team with the highest aggregate of points and money raised went to Bradworthy Social Club, who raised £588 and scored 46,567 points.

Trophy for the greatest number of points went to the Lion Cubs from the Golden Lion in High Bickington with 54,224. Highest individual was Josh Phillips from the Lion Cubs with 10,630 points.

The Lion Cubs were also the finals night cup winners, with Hartland British Legion the runners-up. Plate winners were The Torrington Arms, with Lazy Lads and Lasses from Johny’s in Bideford the runners-up.

RICKY Kelly (FILO Pirates) led the way in the Devonshire Pine Summer Darts League this week with a 16-dart leg of 501.

Kieran Heard (Hartland Rebels) hit two 180s and there were others by Terry England (FILO Fossils), Ricky Kelly (FILO Pirates), Keith Mountjoy (Hartland Rebels), Mark Widnell (Wild Rovers) and Dan Woolacott (Lads n Lasses).

Top finishers were Robert Paul (Mill St Mob) 121out and Kieran Heard (Hartland Rebels) 120 out.

Div 1: Bad Boyz 5, FILO 501s 4; FILO Pirates 6, Hartland Rebels 3; Wild Rovers 2, FILO Fossils7.

Div 2: Anchor Arrows 8, Black Arrows 1; Lads N Lasses 5, Mill St Mob 4; Shammy Shooters 1, Anchor All Stars 8.
