BIDEFORD can breathe easy after beating North Petherton 27-12 to ensure their South West One status for another season.

None of the teams in the bottom three can catch Bideford now after Wadebridge completed the trio by losing at Bridgwater.

Wadebridge can still save themselves, but only Clevedon and Cullompton if they are extremely unlucky have to worry about being caught.

Ollie Wickett hoofed Bideford ahead with a penalty, only for the Oakes to come back with a try by Jacob Beleski that full-back Harry Roberts converted

Sam Olde ran down a Wickett chip for a converted try that put Bideford back in front.

Matt Dennis rumbled in under the posts for Wickett to convert for a 17-7 lead.

Petherton got a try back just before the break through Chad Lowrie to trail 17-12.

Replacement full-back Pat Sanders dotted down a try that made Bideford a little more secure.

Wickett kicked the conversion and wrapped things up with a penalty.
