Youngsters show their elders what they’re made of in memorial match
Bideford Cricket Club’s ‘young bucks’ got the better of the club’s ‘OAPs’ in a well-contested memorial match.
The annual event sees the younger members of the club take on the club’s older players – which this year included 21-year-old Josh King, such is the quality of young players currently coming through – in memory of past members of the club.
This year, the youngsters scraped a one-wicket win over their elders, with number 10 Atkinson seeing his side home with an excellent unbeaten 46.
Fred King earlier bowled well at the OAPs, finishing with figures of 3-17 in five overs.
Older brother Josh did everything he could to deny the young bucks, producing a devastating spell of 6-36, but it wasn’t enough as the younger side went past the OAPs’ score of 150 with nearly six overs to spare.
