Wins in under 11 and 12 leagues and leaders in the u15 chase
Bideford Cricket Club continue to lead the way in most of the colts leagues as the 2013 season reaches its climax.
The u12s won their final game at home to Filleigh to clinch their league, thanks to another great all round performance from the team.
Oliver Hannam (33) and Karne Elphick (23) got the majority of the runs in Bideford’s total of 116 and Ben Seaman took two early wickets to restrict Filleigh to just 90.
The u11s won their title shoot out against Barnstaple. Coming into the match both sides had won all four of their matches, but Bideford prevailed in a tense and hard fought match down at Westward Ho! - despite Barnstaple’s Devon Captain Jack Moore scoring an excellent 41 not out for the visitors.
The u15s now sit top of their league having played all of their games. A magnificent effort at Hatherleigh saw them pick up maximum points.
Alex Hannam opened the batting and was 68 not out at the end of the innings and with good support Bideford finished with 152. Excellent bowling and fielding from the Bideford boys ensured that Hatherleigh never threatened the target, finally ending all out on the last ball of the game.
With only Filleigh and Braunton able to overtake them, with a couple of games left, a nervous couple of weeks await the Bideford under 15 lads to see whether they will join the under 11s and 12s as Champions.
