Bideford Ladies 2-4 Feniton Ladies; Heavitree Ladies 5-3 Ilfracombe Ladies
Bideford ladies fell to a 4-2 defeat in their second game in the Premier League.
Bideford competed well against Feniton, but Neil Darnley’s newly-promoted team ran out of steam late on.
The Robins were expecting a tough game after a difficult first game in the top tier, and fell behind early on.
But they were soon on terms when Tracy Cross fired in with her left foot, and led before half time when Beth Ellis found space and buried her chance.
Feniton made a few alterations at the break, and Biddy’s midfield soon found themselves overrun.
Sure enough, the pressure told as a defensive error let Feniton in to equalise.
And as Bideford faded, the pressure became more and more intense, and Feniton capitalised with two more goals to reach the full-time whistle at 4-2.
Elsewhere, Mollie Jones fired a hat-trick on her debut for Heavitree Ladies in a 5-3 win over Ilfracombe Ladies on Sunday in the Devon Women’s Premier League.
