Bideford Ladies put a disappointing run of results behind them with a 2-0 win at home to Seaton, with whom they had drawn 3-3 in their previous meeting.
They pushed immediately into their visitors’ half. The pressure was soon rewarded when ‘man of the match’ Tracey Cross dribbled the ball from the half way line, and dummied two defenders to score after just 10 minutes.
Bideford maintained the pressure and early substitions strengthen them even more as they dominated the first half.
The second half saw a string of chances, but still Bideford could not net again until a strike from top scorer Beth Ellis left the Seaton keeper stranded for a 2-0 result.
Devon debut
Mollie Jones, who plays for Barnstaple Ladies and Exeter College Academy, made a promising debut for Devon U18 Women in a 2-0 defeat at home to Somerset in the South West County League in Newton Abbot last Thursday night.
