Sea anglers are invited on a mammoth South West specimen hunt from Friday to Sunday, August 25-27 for Bideford Angling Festival

Sea anglers will be stockpiling their reserves and preparing for a weekend without sleep for the Bideford Angling Festival in August.

Running from Friday to Sunday, August 25-27, the festival traditionally gives a good payout to the first, second and third places, with a 100 per cent payout for this year.

Once again fishing limits are from the Severn Bridge down to Hengistbury Head in Dorset, giving scope to pursue pretty much any species you wish to target.

Fish must be brought back to the scales and the usual rules of two rods and three hooks (pennell counts as one) apply.

There will be weigh-ins on the Saturday and Sunday nights at 8.30pm at Bideford Reds Rowing Club on the Quay (EX39 2EY).

There will also be a prize for each daily winner this year, but no pools, though and optional pairs competition will be running separately.

To enter, you can sign in on the Friday night between 7.30-8.30pm. Entry is £10 per day, with junior entry £5.
