Bideford Amateur Athletics Club’s Flynn Jennings stormed through the Bideford 10k on Sunday.
Jennings, 15, was the first of more than 1,100 finishers on a sun-soaked morning by the River Torridge, finishing with a time of 34mins, 59secs.
Ilfracombe Running Club’s Joe Mackenzie finished second, crossing the line after 35mins, 23secs.
James Pugsley made sure there were two Bideford AAC runners in the top three, finishing three seconds behind Mackenzie with a time of 35mins, 26secs.
Bideford’s Michael Bennett was close behind, finishing fourth and taking the Male V50 category win with a time of 35 mins, 58secs.
Julie Dixon, 15th overall, was the fastest female, crossing the line after 38mins,32secs to make it a double for Bideford.
Jodi Bennett was the second fastest female and 19th overall, with a time of 38mins, 45 secs.
Newton Abbot AC’s Martha Neal was third fastest and 26th overall – she completed the course in 39mins, 15secs.
Runners started at Riverbank car park before running along Bideford Quay and out to Instow on the B3233. The second half of the race took place on the Tarka Trail, with competitors running back to Bideford, finishing back at the quay.
A total of 1,149 people finished the race – 100 more than in 2017.
