Barum girls march into county final final

Underdogs Barnstaple Ladies marched into the final of the Devon Women’s Supplementary Cup with a 1-0 semi-final victory over Exmouth on Sunday.

The young Barnstaple Division 1 team defied the odds with an outstanding all-round performance to defeat their Premiership opponents.

The all-important goal came came with a superbly finished lob from Sophie Parish from outside the area.

This means the Barnstaple Ladies have reached the final without conceding a single goal, while scoring 15 on the way.

They will now play the winners of the game between Plymouth and Ashmore, whose semi-final game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The final will take place at Devon FA headquarters in Newton Abbott on April 4 at 7pm.
