Barnstaple Town 0-2 Tiverton
Barnstaple Town will not play a St Lukes Cup semi-final derby with Witheridge after their challenge was ended by rivals Tiverton Town on Wednesday night.
A crowd of almost 200 watched as Barnstaple fell two goals behind to their Southern League opponents in the opening half an hour, a deficit which Barum were unable to overturn.
Barnstaple can take heart from their performance, however, as they were the better side for long periods of the second half.
But it wasn’t to be for Town, who were hoping to set up a North Devon derby with Witheridge in the semi-finals after they shocked Torquay United last week.
Tiverton will now take on giant-killing Witheridge, while Exeter City travel to Plymouth Parkway in the other semi-final tie.
Barnstaple get back to league action on Saturday, when they host Keynsham Town at Mill Road.
