Shepton Mallet 2-3 Barnstaple Town
Barnstaple Town made it seven games without defeat from the start of the season with a fantastic 3-2 win away to Shepton Mallet on Tuesday evening.
Town came into the game on the back of five wins and a draw but Shepton have started this campaign brightly as well, winning four of their opening six games.
But it was Barnstaple who got ahead through key midfield man Lee Francis, before Scott Sharp doubled the advantage.
A much-contested penalty got the home side back into the game, and they were level when a deflected shot found the mark to make it 2-2 before the break.
Barnstaple came out in the second half with real purpose and went back in front thanks to a Ryan Turner strike.
Town held on to make it 19 points from a possible 21 in the Toolstation Western League First division, and now sit just three points behind Bradford Town, who have played a game more.
Barum are in FA Vase action this weekend, when they travel to Newquay on Saturday.
