Barnstaple Town picked up another valuable point in Evo-Stik League South West on Saturday.
Barum came from behind to draw 1-1 at play-off hopefuls Winchester City.
It was goalless at the break, thanks in part to a penalty save from Aaron Screech five minutes before the half time whistle.
Screech got low to his right to deny Jamie Barron, taking the spot kick after Rob Carr was fouled by Chris Ibbeson.
The hosts were given another penalty nine minutes into the second half, but the Barum goalkeeper could not recreate the heroics.
Patrick Cox drilled the ball into the bottom left corner, with Screech diving the other way to give Winchester the lead.
Barum soon pulled things back though, with Billy Hopcroft getting the vital goal.
Hopcroft latched onto a through ball and held firm under pressure from Josh Harfield to finish smartly past goalkeeper Ryan Price.
The draw for Barnstaple means they put another point between themselves and bottom-of-the-league Bishops Cleeve, who lost 3-1 to Salisbury on Saturday.
Last night Barum welcomed league leaders Taunton Town to Mill Road.
They’re also at home on Saturday, with Yate Town the visitors.
