THE North Devon Netball League’s annual presentations were held at the Barnstaple Hotel, with Chris Farr from Titans winning the rosebowl for her commitment and dedication to the sport.
Chris has given up Sunday mornings to run the junior league more than 10 years as well as coaching the Satellite Academy and helping to develop Titans teams
The Charlotte Shaw Memorial Award for the greatest contribution by a newcomer was won by Elaine Norton, who took on the role of league secretary and has also repeated this for her club Carol Anne
Paula Young was the player of the night, winning both the Senior Player of the Year and Players’ Player award for division 1 for the winter season along with the Division 2 Fair Play award in the summer. Alyssia Hayler took the division 1 Fair Play trophy with Lorraine Cleverdon, who was also runner-up for Senior Player.
Ruth Verney and Adilla Allebone Parish were voted top senior players in Divisions 2 and 4 respectively with Kat Timms winning the Division 3 award and the Fair Play award.
Rebecca Priest won the Junior Player of the Year in the top division for the third year, just edging out Alex McKean and Rebecca Willis. Division 2 top juniors were Steph Batstone and Louisa Wilson. Beth Nancekivell won in Division 3, while Ellie Carter, Ellie Ward and Steph Hammett jointly topped Division 4.
The Classic Cup for players over 40 and in Division 1 went to Louise Lathwell.
All Whites team-mates Sharon Curtis and Corinna White shared the honours in division 2 and Chris Southern and Maxine White in Division 3. The Division 4 was won by Claire Hunter of Carol Anne Topaz.
Lucy Loosemore was the Most Improved Player in Division 1.
Players’ Player award winners were: Division 4 - Ellie Ward, Frances Butcher and Elsa Thorne. Division 3 - Gracey Woolway and Anna Caswell. Division 2 - Sharon Cloake and Annie Cook. Division 1 - Paula Young.
The Fair Play Team Award was won by Venners Bakery Cobras, Panthers, Venners Bakery Adders and South Molton Eagles in their respective divisions.
In the summer individuals are voted as fair play players of the match. Natalie Chan was the runaway winner in Division 6, while the higher divisions awards went to Amy Wilson, Emily Risdon, Tracey Hooper, Victoria Urquart, Anna Caswell, Hannah Wood, Louise Way, Tanya Robinson, Robyn Cloake and Rebecca Cuthbertson.
Lorraine Beel won the Players’ Umpire of the Year once again. She shared this with Katrina Venner who also won the Umpire of the Year.
The Most Improved Umpire was Meredith Hoskin.
Carol Anne Diamonds and Titans Pluto won their divisions in both the winter and summer leagues. Bude Stars won Division 2, Carol Anne Rubies topped division 3 in the winter.
Summer team winners were Titans Jupiter, All Whites Blue Oasis and Langtree Re-Unites Rhinos
