The steam engines were led over the old bridge and along the Strand by fair enthusiast George Lovering.

A prayer was said at the Civic Centre for late members of the Showmen’s Guild, before the procession moved off through the town.

It featured a showmen’s engine built in 1917, fully restored in 2008.

Dozens of people gathered to watch the vintage engines pass by and wave them on.
