Wind farm farce at Plough
THERE will be no going around in circles at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington when a new show hits town to dissect the wind turbine argument in hilarious detail.
The Wind Thing -A Musical Farce by Henry Lewis - will be showing at the Plough on Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9 as part of the North Devon Festival.
The subject which has divided people across rural Britain now comes to the stage in a light hearted revue of sketches songs and light entertainment.
Controversial author and composer Henry Lewis sandblasts accepted notions with a fast moving and entertaining show in pursuit of the ever-elusive facts.
A plethora of hilarious songs and sketches takes the audience on a whistle-stop tour of the wind farm phenomena.
Prepare for toe-tapping focus groups, ministerial desperation, plenty of "NIMBYs" and side splitting science will all be in evidence as Henry Lewis dices them finely before tossing everything into the melting pot!
The writer has been producing musical revues on controversial topics to critical acclaim for more than 20 years. These include Joan of Kent about the high-speed rail link and Sex for the Masses, which takes aim at the tabloid press.
