Rockling wins angling league match
A VERY good rockling of 1lb 13 1/2 oz gave Dave Atkinson top spot for Appledore at the North Devon Angling League weigh-in. His brother Andrew claimed third with a dogfish of 2lb 7oz, with Andy Joslin of Rod 'n' Reelers dividing them in second place with a rockling of 1lb 4oz.
League points at the Christmas break, before it resumes in January, now stand at: Triple Hook 37, Rod 'n' Reelers 31, Bideford B 30, Bideford A 28, Combe Martin + Appledore 11 and Soul Brothers 10.
Barnstaple Rod 'n' Reelers monthly rover competition was difficult in terms of quality fish, with a dogfish of 2lbs 5ozs or 77.2% enough to give Dave Shapland first place.
Second went to Lewis Grimwade with a pouting of 1lb 2ozs (75.7%) and third went to John Passmore with another dog of 72.7%.
