Take a leaf out of Switzerland's book

SIR - David Cameron's decision to break his "cast iron" EU election promise to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, marks a new low in British politics.

Cast iron Cameron is claiming that he will repatriate control from Brussels, but under the Masstricht Treaty (signed by John Major), power taken by the EU is never given back. It is called acquis communautaire. To make sure there is no doubt, Ministers from France, Ireland, Poland and Holland have already said "no way."

He is even more disingenuous promising a referendum on any new Treaty. He knows the Lisbon Treaty is 'self amending', so the EU does not need another one!

My father, who was a World War II pilot and voted Conservative all his life, would not recognise the Party today.

All the LibLabCon have now broken their manifesto promise of a referendum on the EU, and because so much power has been given away by them, we now have to accept that a change of government will have little impact.

Our Prime Minister will be answerable to the President of the EU (who could be Tony Blair), and our Parliament reduced to the status of a Regional Council.

So what can we do, if we don't want to live in a corrupt dictatorship, and would rather spend the £50 million a day on our own schools and hospitals?

Clearly, we cannot trust the LibLabCon, but out of the ashes of our political system is a beacon of hope in the form of UKIP. A Party which has increased its vote at each election, based on common sense policies and a desire for a political system like Switzerland, which holds local and national referenda which are binding on their politicians. Politicians having to listening, whatever next?

It really is that simple, and as a bonus, we have nothing to lose!
