South Molton Carnival 2008
BRIGHT blue skies and warm late September sun helped fuel a carnival atmosphere to savour as South Molton partied well into the night. After a couple of damp events in recent years, “perfect” weather helped swell the crowds at the annual fund-raising event – this year being held in aid of St John Ambulance.
Carnival queen Lizzie Ware was crowned by Mayoress Christine Lock in the town square before heading up to Old Alswear Road to kick off South Molton Reserves’ football match against Putford.
The action then returned to the town square where a “fantastic crowd” had gathered to see the carnival procession move through the town.
