THOUSANDS lined the streets to watch one of the largest and most lively Barnstaple carnival processions in recent times. A fleet of 60 floats made its way around the traditional circuit from the Civic Centre, down The Strand and around the town.

Carnival committee chairman Mel Lovering said she was delighted with this year's event and volunteers were still counting the money collected to go to good causes.
