ALL the stops were pulled out for Ilfracombe Carnival, with plenty of revellers, some stunning costumes – and decent weather!
There was an excellent turn out of floats and walkers for the main parade on Thursday evening, with individuals groups and companies who had clearly put a great deal of effort into their carnival entries.
The event is the main fund raiser for organisers Ilfracombe St John Ambulance, which collected £3,462 on the night and more is expected to boost the total.
“It was an excellent night, lots of people took part and had obviously done a lot of work on their floats, which was brilliant,” said Sue Ayre, Divisional Superintendent for Ilfracombe St John Ambulance.
“There was good crowd, plenty of visitors and everyone seemed to be having a good time, with no trouble that we are aware of.
“We’re pleased and very grateful to the people of the town for their support, which is what matters most, together with the valuable assistance we received from Ilfracombe Lions Club and the Round Table.”
