THE TWO youngest pupils at Chulmleigh Community College took part in a ceremonial turf cutting on Thursday to mark the start of work on a new £1.8m building.
Identical twins Andrea and Nick Robinson, aged 11, had the honour of cutting the turf ahead of works to complete the new two-storey classroom block by next spring.
Head teacher Michael Johnson said: “We are really excited about this project; it really gives a future to the children.”
The new building will house new science, language, arts and music rooms as well as a performance area, and is expected to be finished by April.
