34 apartments should be completed by Autumn

Building work has started on 34 private retirement apartments in South Molton.

Award-winning retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, is building the apartments on South Street, a previously vacant site behind Moors Yard.

Exclusively for the over 60s, the development will be designed to offer high-specification one- and two-bedroom accommodation. They’ll be available to reserve off-plan this Spring, with the first homeowners expected to move in during the Autumn.

Debby Pavitt, Regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone South West, said: “At McCarthy and Stone we are committed to helping older people stay independent for longer.

“This marks a really exciting time for the South West region as we launch our first Retirement Living development in South Molton, and we’re thrilled with the level of interest we’ve already received from local househunters, even at this early stage.”

Facilities at the South Molton development will include a homeowner’s lounge, landscaped gardens in which to relax and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. The development will also benefit from its own house manager, a security entrance system, plus 24 hour emergency call points.

To register an interest, call 0800 201 4742 or visit McCarthy and Stone’s website.
