Police thank unknown passerby who helped woman on the wrong side of the railings.

A WOMAN was talked down from the Torridge Bridge by police officers this afternoon (Friday).

Officers received calls concerned for the welfare of a woman ‘on the wrong side of the railings’ at around 12.05pm, said a police spokesman.

A spokesman said: “Bideford Police would like to thank unknown a lady who helped female on bridge.”

Police at the scene spoke to the woman, who is said to be local, and by 12.18pm she was safe and well.

  • This article is very poorly written, it's not clear what this mystery woman did, if the police talked the other woman down off the bridge, what was her involvement ? I find articles written in such sloppy manner frustrating to read.
