Woman fights for life following Braunton crash

Jeep driver, 30, in hospital with life threatening head injuries.

A WOMAN is in hospital with life threatening head injuries after her car crashed near Braunton in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The silver-coloured Jeep Wrangler Sahara Sport left the A361 between the Chivenor Cross roundabout and the Braunton Inn at 1.50am.

The 30-year-old driver was initially taken to North Devon District Hospital and later airlifted to Derriford Hospital where her condition remains critical.

Police said there were no passengers in the vehicle.

Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to the incident, or anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them on 101 quoting log number 87 of 11th May 2014.
