The woman from Winkleigh was taken to North Devon District Hospital.

A WOMAN had to be cut from a car this morning (Weds) after her car was in a collision with a van at Horwood near Bideford.

The collision between the red Ford Fusion and the white Ford Transit van happened at around 11.15am outside Parsonage Farm.

The road was closed from Newton Tracey while police officers requested fire crews from Bideford to cut the roof off of the car.

The driver, from Winkleigh, was then taken to North Devon Hospital complaining of knee, chest and neck pains.

A police spokesman said he did not know if the driver of the van, from Conventry, had any injuries.

It is understood the road remains closed while the vehicles are recovered.
