Council agrees to create interim parking area for permit holders during the off season in Ilfracombe.

Permit holders for Cheyne Beach car park can now also use part of the area in front of Capstone to park their cars off season.

Harbour Board chairman Geoff Fowler said North Devon Council had approved the idea to create a dedicated parking area.

He said with work underway repairing sea defences, boats out of the water and more work expected if the lifeboat house extension is approved, there was a lot less space in the Cove car park.

Last year it was agreed permits holders could use the Cove for parking when high seas made it unsafe to park at Cheyne.
