Kath Parris, a resident at Golden Sands in Westward Ho!, has celebrated turning 103.
A resident at Golden Sands Residential Home has celebrated her 103rd birthday.
Kath Parris was born in Gravesend, Kent, on August 29, 1914, to parents Jim, a ship’s captain, and Jessie, a housewife.
She had two brothers called Jack and Jim.
At school, her favourite subject was English, and she followed on from this by working at a secretarial college as a shorthand typist and secretary.
Her favourite memory of her work days is playing truant.
Kath met her husband, Arthur, at school, and they married in 1940, where she wore a white satin dress.
Arthur and Kath had two children, John and Linda.
Now a resident at Golden Sands in Westward Ho!, Kath loves to read romance novels and enjoys walking.
Her favourite foods are Mini Cheddars and fish and chips, and she loves a tipple of gin and tonic, brandy and lovage.
