Deri Rundle was one of only two people to receive British Citizen Award in the South West.
The founder of The David Rundle Trust, which helps people in Rwanda, has been honoured with an award.
(pictured), a member of Soroptimist International of Barnstaple, was one of only two recipients in the overseas category of the first British Citizen Awards.
At a ceremony held at the House of Lords her proposer, Jenny Arnold, received the award on Deri’s behalf.
Deri was one of 26 ‘ordinary’ people being recognised for voluntary work.
