Pick your favourite before September 10.

GAZETTE readers are being invited to vote for an official flag to represent Exmoor.

Judges have shortlisted five designs from some 260 entries submitted by members of the public – and now is the time to pick your favourite before voting closes on September 10.

Among the five finalists are Kathryn Roseveare and Jamie Loudon, both from Barnstaple.

The winning flag will be announced in an unveiling ceremony on October 29.

The winner will not only have the honour of their flag being registered as an official UK flag, but will receive the very first copy of it, professionally hand made on Exmoor.

The Exmoor Flag Competition launched in the Gazette in June, is financially supported by the Exmoor National Park Partnership Fund and the Exmoor Flag Project team.

Designs were submitted from all over Devon – and as far away as Australia.

Entrants aged two to 93 took part and a judging panel, featuring Exmoor wildlife enthusiast Johnny Kingdom, met at Dulverton Town Hall to shortlist the entries.

Philip Tibbetts of the Flag Institute said: “The range and quality of entries was very impressive and clearly reflects the beauty of Exmoor itself and the passion of its people.”

To vote for your favourite, fill in and submit the attached form or vote online at www.exmoorflag.co.uk before September 10.
