Staff at Ladybirds Daycare in Landkey took the ice bucket challenge on Friday – and laid down the gauntlet for Ofsted chairman David Hoare.

The group of nine, including owner Cathy Hibbard and her husband, took an invigorating shower of ice and water on the main road outside the nursery as they joined the craze that has been taking social media by storm.

Cathy said the group had all made personal nominations of people to take on the challenge next, but on a lighter note decided to collectively nominate Mr Hoare, who takes up his post with Ofsted this month.

“For so many years we have had so many different challenges from Ofsted, so we decided now was the time to nominate him,” she said.
