Two women were taken to hospital after a car came off the North Devon Link Road between Tiverton and South Molton on Friday.

Fire crews from Tiverton and Cullompton used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the women, aged 44 and 77, and they were taken to Taunton Hospital by ambulance.

Police said their injuries were believed to have been superficial. Another casualty, a 33-year-old man, was treated by paramedics at the scene following the 5.15pm incident.

It is understood the car left the road between Bolham roundabout and Rackenford
