UPDATE: Elderly driver injured in Link Road smash

Road closed for three hours following two car crash between Landkey and West Buckland.

AN elderly driver has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A361 North Devon Link Road near Swimbridge this evening (Monday).

The woman, who was behind the wheel of a silver Peugeot 206, registered to an address in West Buckland, was taken to North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple after being cut from the wreckage by fire crews from Barnstaple and South Molton.

Her injuries are described as not life threatening or life changing.

The collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van between Landkey and West Buckland happened at around 6.30pm.

The driver of the Mercedes, registered to High Bickington, is understood to have suffered minor injuries.

The road between the Aller Cross roundabout at South Molton and the Landkey junction reopened at 9.40pm.
