Firefighters and farmer come to the aid of stricken motorist.

TWO people were rescued from a car that had driven into flood water near Shirwell on Saturday.

Fire crews from Barnstaple were called to the scene at around 5.45pm.

They managed to recovered the car using water rescue equipment and with the help of a local farmer and his tractor.
