Two arrested after Ilfracombe teen assaulted

Police appeal for information as two men are charged in connection with assault on March 8.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault which took place on a teenager in Ilfracombe High Street on Saturday, March 8.

Two men have been charged following the incident involving a 16-year-old boy.

Gary Fitzgerald, 27, from Ilfracombe, and Ben Fitzgerald, 24, from Bideford have both been charged with GBH with intent.

The two men appeared at North Devon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 10 and were remanded in custody until a hearing at Exeter Crown Court on April 3.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CI/14/277, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
