Two vehicle accident at South Molton

PUBLISHED: 07:24 14 December 2017 | UPDATED: 07:24 14 December 2017

Firefighters free a woman who was ‘medically trapped’ in one of the cars

Fire appliances from South Molton and Barnstaple were called to a road traffic accident at around 6pm yesterday evening (Wednesday, December 13) involving two cars which had left the carriageway and gone into a hedge.

Shortly after arriving at the scene, at North Road, South Molton, crews confirmed that both vehicles had come to rest on their sides and there was a female casualty medically, not physically, trapped in one of the them.

Crews used small tools and a short extension ladder to not only release the lady from the vehicle, but to make the vehicles safe.

Duty of care was then left in hands of Police and Ambulance crews.
