Torrington will be turning into Whoville this Christmas, with a special Grinch-inspired Christmas fayre planned by the Chamber of Trade.
Christmas is coming to Torrington, and the town’s traders are planning a Who-bilation for the Christmas fayre on Saturday, December 2.
Dr Seuss’ The Grinch will be the theme, with the town turning into Whoville for the day, starting from 11.30am.
There will be lots of activities around the town, such as fairground rides, coconut shy, whack a Grinch, a craft tent, story-telling, face-painting, a photo booth and entertainment, plus Santa and Mrs Claus will be making an appearance.
The event has been organised by members of Great Torrington Chamber of Trade.
Angela Whittaker, of Torrington business Hippy Motors, said: “We hope it’s going to be a lovely start to the festive season, and we do have cover if it rains (or even snows) too.
“We’re trying to bring people together and make it real festive occasion.”
There will be free parking all day in the main car park, and the town centre will be closed to traffic. There will also be a church Christmas fair.
