BRAVE Teddies took a leap of faith off St George’s Church tower on Saturday as £546 was raised towards the refurbishment of its WW1 memorial clock.

Safety regulations were met as the 48 Teddies were strapped to parachutes with medics on hand in case of emergency.

Inside the church was a display of WW1 information and details of a memory walk to help step back and experience local villages during the war years.

Refreshments and Teddy Bear picnics contributed towards the success with more events still to come.

The display will move to St. Mary’s, Croyde on August 23 and return to Georgeham, in addition to the British Legion’s poppy quilt, on September 13.

Each event begins at 10.30am.
