School’s 25 metre pool reopens after summer refurbishment.
THE newly refurbished swimming pool at West Buckland School was opened with a splash and year six pupils took part in a swimming gala.
The 25 metre indoor pool underwent a £125,000 refurbishment over the summer including a new visitor and spectator entrance.
Two new state-of-the-art boilers will also make the heating of the pool and water in the changing rooms more environmentally friendly and efficient.
The project was funded by donations from the West Buckland School Foundation and the Chelsea Settlement, the charitable trust of the Orchard-Lisle family.
Hugo Orchard-Lisle was present at the opening to represent his family’s 125 year connection with the school.
