AN Olympic torch bearer from Barnstaple is giving local people the chance to be pictured with the iconic torch on Sunday.

Simon Paddon, who carried the flame in Cornwall on the first day of its tour around Britain, will be at Sainsbury’s at Roundswell from 10am-4pm.

Shoppers will be able to have pictures of themselves taken with the torch in return for a donation to North Devon Hospice.

Simon said: “I want to give as many people as possible the chance to join in with the Olympic spirit, and offer the unique opportunity to have their picture taken with this iconic symbol of the London 2012 Olympics.”
