Libby Johnson wanted to do something to raise money in memory of her former tutor, Sara Bluett.
A FORMER Park Community School pupil has shaved her head in memory of her tutor who died in a car accident last year.
Libby Johnson, 19, decided to cut off her locks for the charity Amigos, which her former tutor Sara Bluett had raised thousands-of-pounds for.
Libby, who has just completed her A Levels at Petroc, said: “Miss Bluett was my teacher for five years and I raised some money for Amigos with her when I was at school.
“I’ve always wanted to shave my hair for charity but never know which cause to do it for. When Miss Bluett died I decided to do it for Amigos.
“My hair was just below my shoulders so it’s a bit of a change – I was a bit nervous when the hairdresser started shaving it off.
“But I’ve actually grown to like it now, though it does get a bit breezy.”
In total, Libby has raised £658.50 which will help young people in Uganda.
