Delight in tastes from around the world at Barnstaple Pannier Market this bank holiday weekend.

BARNSTAPLE will be sizzling with the sound and smells of street food this month as it hosts the second ever strEAT Food Festival.

Matt Spencer, owner of Custom House Barnstaple, has pulled together a range of local mobile food vendors as well as a host of musical entertainment.

Raising money for the North Devon Hospice, there will be everything from barbecue food, Caribbean, Indian, French classics, fish dishes, ice cream and milkshakes.

Matt said: “We want strEAT to have a real festival vibe, after all, it’s a celebration.

“We often hear there isn’t much to do in Barnstaple, so we wanted to provide an event that everyone could come and enjoy, from families who want something fun to do, people who want to try some different food or just anyone looking to have a good time.”

The event will run from midday until 7pm on Sunday, August 24 at Barnstaple Pannier Market.

There will also be bars from Lilico’s, Venton Cyder and Barum Brewery, as well as music from Scott Xander Linn and the Broken Bottles, Small Town Jones and more.
