North Devon firm raises thousands during annual will writing campaign.
SOLICITORS in Braunton and Barnstaple have raised £8,500 after taking part in the recent Will Aid campaign.
Staff at Slee Blackwell waived their usual will-writing fees in return for a donation to the national will-writing charity scheme – now in its 25th year.
After participating in six of the previous campaigns, the North Devon firm has now raised a total of £21,727.
So far this year, the annual total has already peaked at more than £1.75million, money that will be split between nine well-known UK charities.
Emily Hockin, associate solicitor at Slee Blackwell, said: “We think it is good for our clients to see their solicitors looking outwards and doing something for charity rather than profit.
“We are extremely proud of being able to use our professional skills to write wills for people and as a result raise such a sum for the Will Aid charities.”
This year’s Will Aid scheme starts in November.
