This dramatic footage shows the moment a huge section of cliff crashed down on to the beach at Sillery Sands near Lynmouth.

The footage was captured by a member of Lynmouth Coastguard from across the bay at Lynmouth and was posted on the team’s Facebook page.

The comment said even more debris had fallen in the time it took to post up the video.

Lynmouth Coastguard has urged people to stay well away from that section of coastline as they say it is incredibly dangerous.

Station officer Ashley Clarke said: “The cliffs right through to Foreland Point are very unstable and it is not advisable to go anywhere near the foot of the cliffs.

“This large landslide is one of many other smaller slides over recent months.”

A huge landslide also fell onto the beach at Sillery in October 2015, but the path down to it had been closed for some time before that, after high tides destroyed the steps.
