Monthly 'real' food markets are being planned for Barnstaple.

First event of its kind will be held in Barnstaple Pannier Market on Sunday.

THE first of a series of monthly food market gets under way in Barnstaple this Sunday. (June 8)

The Barnstaple Real Food Market is being held in the pannier market from 9am to 3pm.

The event is being organised by the newly formed North Devon Small Producers Alliance (NDSPA), an alliance of small food producers and hot food sellers.

Around 30 businesses are taking part, including street food traders, artisan producers and breweries in what is being billed as a true celebration of the region’s food.

Future markets are set to take place on the first Sunday of each month.
