Calvert Trust’s Acland Room given fanfare debut.
PRINCESS Alexandra has opened a £1million changing room facility at Calvert Trust Exmoor.
Her Royal Highness officially unveiled the Acland Room during a visit to the activity centre for people with disabilities on Wednesday week.
The fully accessible changing rooms for the hydrotherapy pool have been built to Sport England standards and also feature a new fully glazed, elevated, communal area offering views across Wistlandpound Reservoir and down the valley, as well as a good platform for stargazing.
“We had a delightful day welcoming Princess Alexandra to the Calvert Trust Exmoor,” said chief executive Tim Harris.
“She saw adventurous activities in progress and met and spoke to both the visitors taking part and members of staff. She said the new building was a very splendid installation, but I think she enjoyed everything she saw.
“These new facilities are going to make a positive contribution to quality of the lives of the visitors to our centre, for many years to come.”
